BUOYANT FORCE

Stemming from a fascination with our relationship to the landscape, the sublime, time, and impermanence. Entitled Buoyant Force, a physics term for the upward force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of a partially or fully immersed object, the series consists of cyanotypes made in collaboration with the landscape and natural water sources found at Pepperwood Preserve in Santa Rosa, California. Photochemically, the pieces are not stable and will continue to change over time in response to the environments they encounter.
